Virat Kohli set to retire from Test Cricket

Virat Kohli announced his retirement from Test cricket on May 12, bringing the Indian cricket fraternity to a standstill. His decision to retire came as a bolt from the blue, especially with India playing a Test series against England next month.

Previous reports said that Kohli was deciding on his Test future since India's Test series loss to Australia Down Under. Kohli was expected to play a key role for India in the series. However, he scored only 190 runs in the series, which was way below his standards.

Just five days after Rohit Sharma announced his Test retirement (June 7), Kohli also followed suit, bringing an end to his Test career as well. The BCCI tried their best to convince Kohli to rethink his decision however, the Indian batter was adamant this time.
