Indian batter Sarfaraz Khan has sent a timely recall to the BCCI selectors about his inclusion in the Indian Test team, scoring a century for Mumbai while playing against Haryana in the Buchi Babu Tournament.

The right-hander got to his century in the final session of Day 1 of the contest between Haryana and Mumbai off just 99 balls. He hit Haryana's Ishant Bharadwaj for a massive six as he got to his landmark.

The batter was praised for getting to his landmark and took all the applause as he waved his bat after he took his helmet off. His knock is a timely reminder to Ajit Agarkar and Gautam Gambhir ahead of India’s next Test series against the West Indies at home. The series will be played in October and Sarfaraz has been churning these runs at the right time. With Karun Nair unlikely to be selected in the home series against West Indies, after his poor show against England, Sarfaraz can look to bat in the middle-order for India. So far, he has played six Tests for India, scoring 371 runs for India with a best of 150 against the Kiwis in Bengaluru in 2024. The last Test against the Kiwis in that same series was his last Test match for India.
