India & Bangladesh have made positive starts to their Super Fours campaigns in the ongoing Asia Cup 2025 tournament in the UAE, but the race to the final is still wide open, with Pakistan and Sri Lanka also in with a chance. Defending champions India extended their one-sided rivalry with arch-rivals Pakistan by beating them by six wickets on Sunday, September 21, in Dubai. Bangladesh beat Sri Lanka in the opening Super Four match.
The results have seen India and Bangladesh leading the Super Four points table with two points each. However, Pakistan won their second Super Four clash against Sri Lanka, and are still in with a chance to play the finals of the Asia Cup.

Meanwhile, the Island nation has dug its own grave by losing two matches against Bangladesh and Pakistan. They don't have fate in their own hands and need other results to go in their favor if they have to qualify for the summit clash of the Continental Cup.
How can Sri Lanka play the finals?
Sri Lanka's chances now solely depend on their last Super Four match against India. Not only do they need to win, but they also need to win by a big margin and secure two points. The win will improve their net run rate. Â Second, they need Bangladesh to win all of their remaining Super 4 matches, taking them to six points. This requires Bangladesh to beat both India and Pakistan. If this happens, India, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka would all be tied on two points. Sri Lanka could then reach the final by having the best NRR among these three teams, setting up a clash with Bangladesh.
Sri Lanka will face India in their last Super Four match on Friday, September 26. However, if Bangladesh loses to Pakistan on Thursday, September 25, then the Island nation will be knocked out of the Asia Cup 2025 event.
How can Pakistan qualify for the Finals?
Pakistan can still qualify for the final, and its path is simple. If they defeat Bangladesh in their last Super 4 match, they will likely qualify for  the final, provided India also beats Bangladesh.
